Shopping @ Pyramid + G3 Reunion #1

We knew that we missed face-to-face so much, so we (me, bruce, brian, toh and jay) took a trip there, to satisfy our crave for pan mee! Well, Jay was forced to go lar, that's the last place that he wants to go. hahaha too bad!

Us: "We're going to ftf now!"
Jay: "Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"

Ordered the usual stuffs we always eat. Toh with his red bean ice kacang again. Food arrived in about 10 mins i suppose? When i took my first bite, i was like, OH MAMA, so salty!!! how did i manage to eat this every week back in college days? What seemed to be scrumptious to me turns out to be as if I was engulfing the entire salt mountain from the 'dead sea'. OH MAMA.

Next stop: Sunway Pyramid

Our agenda for that outing? Walked around, window-shopped a little, shopped a little. Alas, the fantastic-10 went to catch a movie and the rest went to have a drink at kim gary. ahhhhh nothing's better than catching up with college besties about our current what-abouts and future plans? Oh i know what's better! GOSSIPING is always the best. Haha. For example, 'who will be the first one in G3 to get married?' And not to forget, our 10-years-promise. Remember to bring your kids along. At the end of the chattering session, Brian decided to treat us. Guess what did Samuel, the greedy mouse say?

Brian: "My treat today!"
Samuel: "Haiyor, if i knew earlier i would have ordered something!"
Huei Wen: "Aiyor, I should have ordered something expensive to eat!"
others: "haahahahHAHAHAHhahahahHAHAHAHHA!"

After that, i needed to go to the loo badly. BUT! i cannot find the toilet!!!!! That samuel knows wheres the toilet also don't want to tell! LUCKILY I DIDN'T PEE IN MY PANTS!

Time to do some grocery shopping. Wandered around Giant to get some fooooooood. And Off to Stephanie's ULU house.

No problem on the highway, jammed all the way to Shah Alam. When we were within 100m radius from her house, we got lost! hahaha. Why are so many round-abouts around your neighbourhood?! mini one, tiny one, huge one, gigantic ones. Called stephanie umpteen times to get the right directions.

She kept repeating: "have you passed the round-about?"
me: "Which round-about?!?!?!?"

Jit Tong's car was so fed up of following our wrong directions and decided to continue their journey on their own. sob. Yu Chuan has a GPS but don't wanna use it and decided to get lost. Kai Vin was stucked in a massive jam haha!

The black myvi was the first to reach! We were greeted by Stephanie's German Sheperd (fake one). Seperti rusa masuk ke kampung, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah your house so big!!!

Stephanie's hospitality very awesome hor, because she's awesome =) Great food (thank you auntie!), great house (uncle u're awesome!) and great games (thank you sebastian for setting up everything for us). Everybody snatched the wii remote control, k lar no snatch, take turns =).

Boxing was my favourite, and i ended up having sore triceps and biceps AS WELL AS BACKACHE.

What's more? My favourite part of the gathering was relaxing at her cooling garden, accompanied by koi fishes and the S-shape fishes, TALKING AGAIN! Too bad, no music. Nikkil didn't want to sing, so much for taking vocal lessons and you don't want to show off! We also had fun watching Stephanie fighting with her brother, Sebastian. No wonder stephanie looks tired in college every morning, cause she had to go through this ordeal every single day!

Hey guys, really want to suprise Pn Mahani by sitting in her class on the first day of college? I don't mind!

To sum up, it was a fun gathering, my only regret is that the gathering was too short! Hope that there's more to come.

I would like to say thank you to Stephanie Yeap Jin Leng, the awesome one for offering her gigantic house for noisy animals like us.

Taylor's Awards Presentation Ceremony

Couldn't sleep the night before this ceremony, not because I'm really excited about it, it's due to my upside down biological clock. I barely slept, i think i only had about 2 hours of sleep.

The aftermath? You know what it is. It's so dark, that the sky turned dark as well, followed my dark circles' footsteps. Dark clouds floated across my house and rain started to plummet down like bullets. Oh well, time to take out the weapon required - umbrella. Under my umbrella, ella, ella, ella eh, eh, under my umbrella, ella, ella, ella, eh eh!

Dad dropped mommy and mua at taylors and went to work. Climbed up the endless staircase to the MPH hall. Seriously when is taylors gonna install an escalator or a lift. Swarmed with a lot of humans lar, 'people mountain people sea'. Actually not a lot, compared to the previous awards ceremony. Yeah, i don't like huge crowds, don't like to squeeze through them and constantly saying excuse me. I'm selfish. Yes.

Registered and seated, anxiously waiting for the ceremony to start. Mrs Quek briefed us on how to behave and stuff and not long after the ceremony started.

Speeches, speeches, speeches. oh yeah, i love the emcee, he's so bubbly and funny! Always smiling. I've got to say, a smile can have such a big impact on other people. A smile can make someone's day. A smile can give other ppl reassurance. A smile can make other people feel welcomed. Don't forget to bring your smile with you wherever you go! Remember to flash your set of good teeth, if you don't, you can come to me after 5 years? I'll fix it for you =)

First speech, by Mrs Hoe Li Lin, the principal of SAM. She did some analysis on our performance, and compared it to the aussies' performance. To my suprise, we are so much better! Kinda open my eyes. Next, speech by Counsellor of Education, Australian High Commission, Ms Louse McSorley, some angmoh poh lar! Brian kept saying she's trying to seduce us, by speaking in a low voice and changing her pose from time to time. Well i think she's fine. Maybe she's just nervous because a bunch of asians are staring at her. haha SEDUCE us. RIGHT! Lastly, speech by president of TUC. He cannot stop using the word 'awesome'. Guess he want to fit in the teenagers' circle. Hahahaha. We are AWESOME!

On with the presentation of Awards. ahhhhhhh a lot of humans! Got to salute the top scorer, Teh Li Ying. With TER of 99.90 and 4 merits. *i got 1 merit only haha* Wonders how she studies..hmmm. Anybody knows the official photographer? should i seduce him as well to get my photos? my camera sucks lar, my mom's first time using the camera as well :'(.

I got 2 awards. One for straight As and one for merit. I'm still proud of my achievements even though I'm not the top-est! Wee.

But i really admire those who got the Chairman's Award and President's Award. All these geniuses. Can study, can do charity, can dance, can sing, can do sports. Nothing that they cannot do. Instantly, i've set them as my role models. I'm inspired to do more things when i'm in uni, don't want my life to revolve around studying only.

Nerds should not be admired. But all-rounders should be worshiped.

The ceremony ended with a speech by Valedictorian, Jeremiah. His speeches are soothing to the ears, not the boring-boring speech by our SAM student council president, kayu. But nvm he's a wood what can you expect from him? Anyway, Jeremiah is a talented speaker, not to mention a top scorer. You have my respect. Couldn't really see his face, is he lengchai?

Then, it's time to CAMWHORE!! Everybody went up the stage to get our photos snapped by the paparazzis! So bad lar those guys, no brain one! how can u ask the girls to squat? Dumb dumb. Hope the staff will upload the photos on facebook lar. I desperately wanna see them.

Vampire

My biological clock is totally haywire. I sleep at 3 or 4 am. Wake up at erm, 2pm? Even though i tried sleeping early and wake up early, i will hibernate until 2pm again. It's like i cannot function before 2pm. As if the sun can really burn my skin and i will die, like a vampire.

Moreover, i have fangs =) Quite sharp i would say. Right, they also say vampires are drop-dead-gorgeous to lure their preys, and then SUCK THEIR BLOOD! Am i gorgeous enough to lure you? *wink* Okay, shall not act like a prostitude.

I used to think my sister is insane for staying up until 4am last time. I mean, who doesn't like to sleep? But guess who's insane now, ME TOO. I just enjoy the quiet time to myself. Solitary to myself, to do some thinking, self reflecting, dreaming, reading, watching videos. And the best thing is? nobody disturbs me. Of course lar, everybody is alseep, sleep and sound (snoring)! Don't worry, I don't watch porn. I watch make-up tutorials =) I'm so fascinated lar! I should take up make up!!! I want that 180 colour palette, from ebay!! 180 eyeshadows ok. And it's quite cheap, 25 USD okay, for 180 colours!

Sigh, got a lot of blisters on my hand, as a result of cleaning every single day. This sucks. What should i do? lick my blisters so that they'll heal faster? (vampires lick themselves because they have healing powers) Damn coarse lar my hands, should apply lotion.

Sorry, too much vampire related shows/movies/books. I got carried away.

PS. Edward Cullen, opps sorry it's Robert Pattinson is NOT cute/handsome AT ALL. Not a sinlge bit. No wonder he doesn't drink blood because he fails to lure his prey. Vegetarian..pfft.

A Malaysian political leader had a heart surgery in Singapore .

The operation was successful. During his recuperation period, the political leader would like to thank three skillful doctors, including an anaesthesiologist.

“I'm sorry, sir. I'm from Malaysia ,” interrupted a doctor.

“Me too.”

“Me as well.”

A Malaysian company wanted to develop a new town abroad, it entrusted the project to a Singapore multinational company.

The first time when they met, the Singapore company sent a team of seven people, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Architect and Chief Finance Executive.

The meeting went smoothly. They relaxed and chatted.

The Malaysian company's Director said: “Durians from my hometown Kuala Pilah, Seremban taste the best. I'll treat you all next time when you come.”

“Really? What area in Kuala Pilah? I'm from Kuala Pilah, too!” said the Singapore company's Chief Executive Officer.

Next, one by one, the other six from the Singaporean team revealed their identities.

“I'm from Malacca.”

And there is always another story behind each story.

Some were rejected by domestic universities while some were rejected by the government scholarship.

They couldn't get it even with 10 As while others got only 10 Bs. As leaving might be better than staying, they just went to a different world after crossing the bridge.

There is a deep feeling for every story.

According to the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) statistics, a total of about 785,000 Malaysians are currently working abroad and 44% of them are working in Singapore while the rest are working in other countries, including Hong Kong , China , Australia , the United Kingdom and the United States .

And two-thirds of them are professionals.

At the same time, most of the 2 million guest workers in Malaysia are from Indonesia , Bangladesh , Myanmar , India and Vietnam.

They are engaged in labour industry which does not require high educational background but just a little bit of brains. Low skill, low knowledge and of course, low wages.

Malaysia has become a country that exports brains while importing labours, resulting in a serious deficit in knowledge trade.

The government started to call on talent backflow in 2000 by offering a variety of incentives, including tax concessions and other conditions.

It has been nearly 10 years of time but only 770 people responded, with an average of 80 talents return a year. The 770 people are just a small number of the total number of people working abroad.

However, many of the small group of people still choose to leave again even they have returned.

While many young people are not able to realise their dreams here and thus, they are packing and preparing to pursue their dreams in unfamiliar countries.
